4Search is a family of sites, the 4 Network, and not every site has every service. A tab or feature you saw on one site may not exist on another. That is by design, not a fault.

#How to tell what a site has

The tab row under the search box lists exactly what the site you are on offers. The Menu lists the same services. Compare two sites below: one shows Finance, Politics, Predictions, Weather and Maps, the other does not.

The tab row on 4Search, which includes Finance, Politics, Predictions, Weather and Maps

On a site that has the services, the tab row includes Finance, Politics, Predictions, Weather and Maps.

  1. 1A service this site has
The tab row on a site without the service tabs: AI Mode, All, Web, News, Topics, Shopping, Websites, Images and Videos

On a site without them, the tab row goes straight from News to Topics.

  1. 1Right after News comes Topics: no Finance, Politics, Predictions, Weather or Maps tabs here

If the tab is not in the row or in the Menu, the site does not have that service.

#If you open an address for a service the site lacks

You see a plain page headed 404 - Page Not Found that says the page you were looking for does not exist, with a link to the home page.

The 404 Page Not Found page shown for a service this site does not have

The page shown for a service the site does not have.

  1. 1The page says it does not exist

Nothing is broken, and your saved items are safe. The address belongs to a service this site does not run.

#What to do

  • Use the tabs that are there. AI Mode, All, Web, News, Websites, Images and Videos work on every site that shows them, and Topics works on a site that has topics.
  • Find a site that has the service. The footer lists the sites of the 4 Network under The 4 Network. Each service's overview says which sites have it. See Finance, Politics, Predictions, Weather, Maps and Shopping.
  • Follow a link from Help. Links from the Help Center to a service open it on a site that has it.

#If a service is on the site but shows a notice

If the tab is there but the page says the service is being set up, see A service says it is being set up.

#Common questions

Why does one site have Finance and another does not?

Each site in the network has its own set of services. The footer shows the family of sites, and each service's overview says where it runs.

I saw a tab yesterday and it is gone.

Check that you are on the same site: look at the address. If you are, tell us, with the address of the page. See How to reach us.

Does a missing tab mean the site is down?

No. A site that is down does not load at all. A missing tab means that site has no such service.
